I’m so tired of these self-righteous false binaries. We’re actually talking about a complex, highly dynamic set of forces—health, economic, social, educational, etc.—acting on each other whether we shut down or not. Pretending it’s a pure matter of altruism/self-sacrifice vs hedonism/selfishness just sounds simpleminded, not noble. But there’s so many other complications of another lockdown that are just as important. If you’re that scared of dying, then continue to stay home. Weigh the risks yourself.
