The city felt decidedly more human to me a decade ago. I’m not trying to be anti tech (although, I personally do kind of feel that way. Fuck tech bro’s who treat this city as a perk package and don’t bother truly getting to know the people and what they love about SF. Fuck tech bro’s who don’t bother to think whether they should, only whether they can.) but I am saying that the reasons I moved to this city in 2008 are mostly gone.  My favorite little mom and pop cafes, gone. My favorite historical bars, gone. My favorite corner stores that had been there for generations.. well you get it. Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name. I used to feel that here and now I don’t.People are being pushed out of their homes dude. Please let people feel this way without being told their comments and feelings are stupid.

  This really sucks, I’ve been there more than I’d like to admit. Curious why you didn’t just pay your registration though...your lack of a permanent address is kinda irrelevant. No matter what, the Jeep is still registered to your previous/current address. It’s not like the registered address just goes blank if you don’t pay your tags. Regarding smog, they give you a month to get a smog test once you pay the fees, and temporary tags until then. The DMV Registration tags expiring, that's on him. He can't blame the city, state, etc. for that. Renewing registration is key, because if any minor incident happens, you're facing serious problems -- which was the root of origin of the problems here (the stamp was a little coincidental bad luck).  I once had my car stolen by the city, back in the old city tow days when it wasn't administered directly by the city. Car was stolen from a legit parking spot. During the tow, they broke the fuel line. So not only did I have to pay $400 (1996 dollars) to get it out, I had to pay for a tow truck to haul out my now-broken car. PITA. A good idea. Someone should definitely take that on. I'm surprised no one has brought up that Bobby Lee thing. I remember in an episode of Tiger Belly that exact thing happened.
