  When they occasionally try at the carpet or furniture, I generally just raise my hand up and say "here come the pops" or "pops incoming" and they disengage the claws. Sometimes I give little head taps or pops and they get it. Cinco will turn his ears back, squint, and tuck his head into his neck at just the word "pop" and it's adorable. No worries, they've never been smacked or anything hard. Social animals like cats and dogs just use physical reminders to stop bad behavior so you have to speak their language. I also recommend learning how cats use eye contact, blinks, winks, etc. That way you can raise them to be very direct and "conversational". I can tell the mood of both my cats right away by how we make eye contact, and similarly communicate back. Other people also like how expressive and communicative the kitties are.

  This really sucks, I’ve been there more than I’d like to admit. Curious why you didn’t just pay your registration though...your lack of a permanent address is kinda irrelevant. No matter what, the Jeep is still registered to your previous/current address. It’s not like the registered address just goes blank if you don’t pay your tags. Regarding smog, they give you a month to get a smog test once you pay the fees, and temporary tags until then. The DMV Registration tags expiring, that's on him. He can't blame the city, state, etc. for that. Renewing registration is key, because if any minor incident happens, you're facing serious problems -- which was the root of origin of the problems here (the stamp was a little coincidental bad luck).  I once had my car stolen by the city, back in the old city tow days when it wasn't administered directly by the city. Car was stolen from a legit parking spot. During the tow, they broke the fuel line. So not only did I have to pay $400 (1996 dollars) to get it out, I had to pay for a tow truck to haul out my now-broken car. PITA. A good idea. Someone should definitely take that on. I'm surprised no one has brought up that Bobby Lee thing. I remember in an episode of Tiger Belly that exact thing happened. They were named by multiple people in accusations, including by one here on Reddit. They were allegedly hitting people up for D’elia.
